While the buzz in Fortnite currently revolves around the arrival of Greek characters on the island, there’s another mysterious organization called ‘Shadow’ that has been busy training players with new gear and vehicles. These secret missions, known as Shadow Briefings, offer exciting rewards in the form of Gold Bars or upgraded equipment, giving you an edge in your matches.
Shadow Briefings, Explained
Imagine Bounty Boards, but with a twist. Shadow Briefings are a new type of mission in Fortnite that requires you to accept a mission, after which a rift appears, transporting you to your objective (excluding Bounties) and marking it on your map. Beware though, other players can hear the rift and see the supply drop on the map, so you’ll have to be quick to claim the rewards before someone else snatches them away.
The objective of each briefing varies. You might need to secure a supply drop, drive a specific distance, dig up chests, or hunt down an enemy within a time limit. Failing to complete the objective or beat others to the reward means missing out on the benefits. Stay vigilant as you can identify the type of mission available through walls, indicated by a symbol, and on your mini-map by the ‘Job Board’ icon with a magnifying glass.
Shadow Briefings can spawn in various locations across the island, but their unpredictability makes it challenging to compile a comprehensive list. Some spawns disappear after being used, while others may not appear in certain matches. It adds an element of surprise to your gameplay, keeping you on your toes.

Supply Drop Shadow Briefings
When you accept a supply drop briefing, brace yourself for an immediate visual notification on your HUD revealing the spawn location. Typically, the drop is a fair distance away, so wasting time is out of the question. Keep in mind that other players can also detect the supply drop on their mini-maps.
Unlike Vehicle Shadow Briefings, completing a supply drop mission won’t reward you with Gold Bars. Instead, the supply drop itself becomes your prize. Upon opening it, you can find weapons of up to Epic rarity and potentially discover some Gold Bars.
You’ll come across Supply Drop Shadow Briefings near major POIs like the middle of Pleasant Piazza, the southern side of Classy Courts, the southeast side of Grim Gate, the gas station southwest of Lavish Lair, next to the vending machine on the south side of Restored Reels, and on the west side of Fencing Fields.
Vehicle Shadow Briefings
Imagine having a car materialize out of nowhere, just like in the movies. That’s essentially what happens when you accept one of the Vehicle Shadow Briefings. Upon activation, a vehicle will rift in, ready for you to hop in and hit the road. To earn the 100 Gold Bar reward, you must cover 500 meters within the time limit. The sports car that spawns will even transform into your custom ride from your Locker.
The Vehicle Shadow Briefings are predominantly found along major roads, ensuring you have a convenient means of transportation without having to search too far. Locations for these missions include the curvy road northwest of Grand Glacier, the road next to the bridge south of Classy Courts, the road on the east side of Reckless Railways, two spots along the major road south of Fencing Fields, and along the road northeast of Lavish Lair.
Bounty Shadow Briefings
If you’re a seasoned Fortnite player, you might recognize these as the revamped version of the previous seasons’ beloved Bounty Boards. In Bounty Shadow Briefings, you’ll be assigned a random enemy player as your target. The general radius of their location will be revealed on your map, and only by defeating them can you claim the reward.
Search for the Bounty Shadow Briefings at major POIs, including inside the center station at Reckless Railways, at the rest station just west of Reckless Railways, behind the seating at Restored Reels, on the west side of Fencing Fields, and at the train station south of Fencing Fields.
Plunder Shadow Briefings
Are you ready to embrace your inner treasure hunter? The Plunder Shadow Briefings present you with a thrilling opportunity to discover and dig up two Rare chests hidden nearby. However, be wary of enemy players and the encroaching Storm Circle, as you’ll need to claim your rewards before others do.
