Step 1 Prepare the Ground Before we start digging, make sure you have a solid foundation for your house. Go into build mode and choose a suitable location where you want your basement to be. Remember, you’ll need enough space for your Sims to comfortably navigate the underground maze. Step 2 Start Digging Now it’s time to put those virtual muscles to work. Select the basement tool from the build mode panel. It looks like a little staircase going down. Click and drag to determine the size and shape of your basement.
